About Bench For Boobs
Bench For Boobs is a friendly bench press competition aimed at raising funds for PINK of Terre Haute, a local non-profit organization that donates and helps with funding for those diagnosed with breast cancer. Bench For Boobs is hosted every year in October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) with all proceeds going towards PINK of Terre Haute. At THIRST, we do our best to raise funds for local charities by also teaching others in the community about strength training, and health and wellness.

About The Competition
The Bench For Boobs Bench Press Competition utilizes competition grade equipment and rules to help give people an introduction to a sanctioned powerlifting meet via a bench press only option.
Each competitor is allowed three attempts at a weight of their choosing, however, once a weight has been chosen, the competitor is not allowed to decrease their weight. Once a successful lift has been made, the lifter may increase the weight for the next attempt. The highest successful lift by the lifter is deemed their best lift, and is what is used to determine the overall winner and each weight class winner.
Each attempt has rules that must be followed, including but not limited to:
- Start Command, Press Command, Rack Command
- Butt must stay in contact with the pad
- Feet must stay on the floor and not move
- The bar cannot have any downward motion after moving upward
If you would happen to have questions about the basic powerlifting rules, please don’t hesitate to contact us. But please be in attendance for the rules meeting.
