Training seemed rather short today but I am finally starting to sprout a pair of lats I believe. My back has always been something that I have to work rather hard to build up compared to my chest or legs. Having a day of training dedicated to this muscle group is definitely a nice change as I can focus on bringing up these weak points that normally get lumped in with bigger, compound movements in my powerlifting training. This session went as follows…
- Stretch and Warm-Up
- Bent Over Rows
- 135×10, 155×10, 175×10, 185×10
- Dumbbell Rows
- 60×10, 70×10, 80×10, 90×10
- Straight Arm Pulldown – 3×12
- Single Arm Lat Pulldown – 4×12
- Glute-Ham Hypers – 2 Sets to Failure
- Stir the Pot – 4×20
This first week back to school coming off break has been kind of stressful to say the least. I must have procrastinated a little harder than I thought before the break and there is a lot of catching up to do. Training has been a outlet for destressing and venting during this time. The way I see it, I can either use the frustration and allow it to push me through hard training days or I can give into the funk and allow it to drag me down. On the bright side I have been wearing a tee shirt and shorts around all week which is a nice change from the three jackets and pants we have been in here in West Laffy for what seems like 6 months. I’m hoping that school and the weather are both taking a turn for the best and I can continue to focus on my training without much distraction. Until next time!
