Recently, Brandon Smitley was nominated and voted the Tribune Star Reader’s Choice Best Personal Trainer in Terre Haute, Indiana and the Wabash Valley.
While Brandon was the trainer nominated and recipient of the award, he believes that the whole coaching staff at Terre Haute Intensity Resistance and Sports Training (THIRST) deserves the recognition.
“We’re a team, and honored to be such a team impacting youth athletes and adult clients around the Wabash Valley”, noted Brandon Smitley.
With THIRST gym only being in operation for a little less than two years, owners Brandon and Adrian Smitley hope it’s the first of many to come their way.
“What makes a good personal trainer or coach? Sets, reps, loads, exercises?
Likely none of that. Sure education and knowledge is important but..
In my opinion, it’s communication, buy-in, integrity, passion, and humility that we don’t have all the answers. How can we make someone better as a person?… Not just lose weight or perform better. How can we transform lives outside the gym via the struggles the weights teach us.
How do we Build Better People Through Strength?
That’s what makes a great trainer/coach.
Thank you for thinking we at THIRST do that better than anyone.”
