On July 11th, 2020, Terre Haute Intensity Resistance and Sports Training (THIRST) hosted their first annual Lift For Lymphoma fundraiser. This fundraiser is a friendly, local deadlift competition held in Terre Haute, Indiana where all the proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The competition had 14 competitors from various places across Indiana, and was sponsored by Elitefts, NutraBio, Baeslers, We Are PR Clothing, Little Bear Coffee, Chik-Fil-A, and others. Winners of the event took home some free supplements, apparel, and other small goodies!
As a whole for the day, the event raised $1900 that was donated to an Indiana State University Alumni, Kayla Sinders, that was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in July 2019. Adrian Smitley, a Co-Owner of THIRST, was diagnosed two weeks prior to Kayla with Hodgkin’s as well.
We at THIRST gym, would like to thank EVERYONE that donated, competed, visited, volunteered, and did anything to help us on this day to help provide funds for Kayla and the battle against cancer! We hope to see more competitors and support in June of 2021.
